It's done. Two days. Four games. Four National Champions. One All-Island Champion.
But the story of the 2025/26 Ireland Esports Collegiate Series isn't just about who lifted trophies at GamerFest. It's about the hundreds of students who competed throughout the year, the Member Societies that built communities on campus, and the volunteers, casters, admins, content creators, and event staff who helped bring the series to life.
Eight academic years into collegiate esports in Ireland, this felt like a milestone moment for the entire community.
"Champions were crowned at GamerFest, but what I'll remember most is seeing students step forward and ask how they could help. Some wanted to compete next season. Others wanted to cast, create content, volunteer, organise, or grow their local society.
That's a sign of a healthy ecosystem. Eight years on, collegiate esports in Ireland isn't just sustaining itself—it's growing because students continue to take ownership of it. This Finals weekend felt like the strongest example of that yet."
🏆 2025/26 ALL-ISLAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
The race for the All-Island Collegiate Esports Championship could hardly have been closer. As the National Finals got underway at GamerFest, four universities remained firmly in contention for the overall crown.
With UCD and DCU contesting both Valorant and League of Legends, and SETU and TCD meeting in Rocket League and CS2, the destination of the championship would be decided on stage.
Remarkably, each finalist walked away with a title. With the LAN honours split four ways, the championship reverted to the season-long standings, where UCD's performances across the full campaign proved decisive. Their consistency throughout the series secured the points needed to lift the All-Island Collegiate Esports Championship trophy.
